My Funky Camera

One of my favorite things about my camera is my gorgeous camera strap from My Funky Camera! I have the Cherry Blossoms white and green neck strap, but they carry a wide range of camera neck straps, wristlet and hand straps, as well as point and shoot camera straps in many beautiful designs. LOVE them.

My ‘to post’ list for the month of January…

What I would like to do and what I can do are sometimes worlds apart…but here is what I would LIKE to do:

~ some more preschool packs!! I’ll be sharing an Astronaut Preschool Pack this week and have some more in the works!

~ a few other printables that I’m working on and will be sharing soon: book report forms and weekly temperature tracking, and artist studies {with Cindy from Along the Way}

~ reviews & giveaways on a few great products we’re using:  Math Rider and Education Cubes

~ Verse pdfs for the Awana Truth & Training Book 1 {I’m 1/4 of the way through these and my goal is to complete the rest of these!}. I finally finished up the Awana WingRunner and Awana HangGlider books…I just need TIME!!!

~ and of course all the regular weekly stuff…Science Sunday, Homeschool Village {when I can!!}, Preschool Corner, and Raising Rock Stars too! I really can’t wait to start posting our science things again!!!!

My Goal for the month of January {and December’s results}…

My goal for December was to finish one non-fiction book ~ Grace-Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel. I’m happy to say that I did! I also finished the book Six Ways to Keep the “Little” in Your Girl by Dannah Gresh and LOVED that one too. I still have a few more on my nightstand that I would like to work on this month…all related to parenting girls. Can you guess what is heavy on my heart right now?

For January, my main goal is to get our household papers and information in ORDER because my hubby and I will be taking a vacation together {minus the kiddos} at the end of the month! Needless to say, I would like all the info in one place and updated so when my parents are watching the kids they have all they need….just in case.

You know, should the toilet back up again because a certain little someone decides to flush something non-flushable down the toilet.

I am updating my Emergency Binder printables and will share them when I’m done! I’m hoping to make them all editable pdf’s so you all can enter in your own info and save it to use.

My ‘to post’ list for the month of December…

What I would like to do and what I can do are sometimes worlds apart…but here is what I would LIKE to do:

~ some more preschool printables!!
~ reviews & giveaways on a few great products we’re using:  Ahh! kids bean bag, GoodBooks, and Math Rider
~ Full pdf set of verse printables for the Awana HangGlider book {indidual verses are done, but you all keep asking for the full sets!}
~ Verse pdfs for the Awana Truth & Training Book 1 {my goal is to complete another 8 of these!}
~ and of course all the regular weekly stuff…Science Sunday, Homeschool Village {when I can!!}, Preschool Corner, and Raising Rock Stars too!

My Goal for the month of December…

This past month, I’ve been using Tell Your Time What to Do by Amy Lynn Andrews to help budget and manage my time better. I blocked out my time for each week and although it’s been challenging at times, I’ve done really well in trying to stick to it. From Saturday afternoon to Sunday night the computer has been off…and it’s been wonderful. I’ve squeaked in more reading, special time with the kids, and overall, I’m loving the new schedule.

For December I have a lofty goal ~ finish ONE non-fiction book.  I’m participating in the Fall into Reading 2010 with Callapidder Days and have YET to complete any of the non-fiction books on my fall reading list {well, with the exception of finishing the Bible}. I have managed to read 5 chapters in Grace-Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel {and want to finish it} and put a good dent into a new book that I added to the pile by Dannah Gresh. Unfortunately, I also picked up another great looking book Bringing Up Girls, so I’ll have to see which one I pick up first.

Assuming that I finish the first fiction book. :)

What I would like to do and what I can do are sometimes worlds apart…but here is what I would LIKE to do:

~ Verse pdfs for the Awana Truth & Training Book 1 {my goal is to complete 8 of these!}

~ A pirate preschool unit with lots of printables!! Can’t wait to share this with you, but I’m putting the finishing touches on it!!

~ and of course all the regular weekly stuff…Science Sunday, Homeschool Village {when I can!!}, Preschool Corner, and Raising Rock Stars too!

My Goal for the month of November…

I was doing well with with my exercise routine up until the last bit of the month {even managed to drop a few pounds}, but once I was a few days away from attending the Relevant Conference and ever since, I haven’t been consistent at all {read: zilcho, nada, nothing}. I will be keeping up with that though this month.

Since returning from Relevant, Rick and I have been working on a new schedule for the two {mainly me} so that our kids are getting the BEST and the MOST out of me. I’ve been using Tell Your Time What to Do by Amy Lynn Andrews to help budget and manage my time better. Now that I have my time blocked out, my goal is to stick to it for the month and see where {and if} it needs to be tweaked at all.

The most exciting part for me? The computer is OFF for over 24 hours on the weekend for all of us, which may not seem like a big deal to others, but for me it is a big deal…and believe it or not, we survived this last weekend and the internet did not fall apart.

~ and of course all the regular weekly stuff…Science Sunday, Homeschool Village {when I can!!}, Preschool Corner, and Raising Rock Stars too!

My Goal for the month of October…

This past month has felt like a full round of insanity around these parts. We had much going and I tried to keep track of my time using Toggl {I have it both on my desktop and also on my iTouch}. I’ve done pretty good keeping up and tracking our homeschool time, my Bible reading time, housework, and all the other random things in our life. It’s been helping me be accountable {which is a good thing} and see what areas I need help tweaking a bit.

Exercise would be one of them.

I REALLY need accountability in this area ~ meaning another body to suffer along side of me. I believe that I’ve convinced my hubby to groan along with me, so my goal is to get back on track with exercise.

My Goal for the month of September…

With our homeschool curriculum and the ‘Pit of Despair’ finally organized and sorted, I’m feeling like I can breathe a little easier. You can see the lovely before and after pictures in my August goal update post.

Ahhh…it feels good.

For September, my goal relates a little more to me personally ~ keep track of my time better and make better use of it. I love lists and schedules, but I also get easily sidetracked. This month is going to be a busy month for not only our family, but me personally. I have a lot of things that I need to balance ~ and keeping our kids and family central is important to me.

I’ve been using Toggl {thanks to Carisa’s suggestion} to help track my time better…and see where I’m wasting it or can manage it better. I love that I can use it from my itouch and my computer desktop. Of course the pretty graphs don’t hurt either. :)

~ Lesson plans for Peru, Venezuela, and Mexico…maybe more! {vacation in July threw me off ~ sorry!}

~ Poem printables for First Language Lessons 4

~ Full pdf set {and individual ones too!} of verse printables for the Awana Cubbies book

~ Full verse pdf sets for the Awana books: WingRunner and HangGliders

~ A few more great giveaways!!

~ New preschool planning sheets

~ Our {still-in-process} chore system…I’ll fill you all in, but wanted a little time to see how it would actually work for us…or IF it would!

~ and of course all the regular weekly stuff…Science Sunday, Homeschool Village, Preschool Corner, and hopefully we’ll be back with Raising Rock Stars soon too!

My Goal for the month of August…

Last month’s goal of roller-skating went flying out the window with us being on vacation for over a week. And that’s ok because we had fun together as a familySO, we’ll tack that onto this month’s list of things to do. Updated on 7/31 @ 5pm…just under the wire, we squeaked this goal in ~ you can see the fun pictures in Roller-Skating Geriatric Style.

My other big goal? Get our homeschool curriculum…past, present and future re-organized. I’ve been slowly {but surely} going room by room and getting things in line, but in the process one room has become a PIT of despair and is sadly in need of attention and lots of it.

The state of that room is always in the back of my mind and really effecting other stuff {like my ability to focus} so it is top priority ~ especially since we’re supposed to start school soon and finding things could be an issue if I don’t do it! :)
