Not sure how the weather has been where you all live, but BRRRR!!! It’s been cold, cold, cold in our area! The weather may warm up just a bit, but here are a few activities to keep little hands busy.

Need some fun ideas for sensory bins? Stir the Wonder shares an entire YEAR’s worth of sensory bins. There’s a little something for every child! I love the apple pie bin, jelly bean sensory bin, and the creative fun with pool noodles – be sure to check them out.

Keep the little birds outside happy with some simple pinecone bird feeders from There’s Just One Mommy. They would probably appreciate it with all the snow and ice!

Want to learn about chromatography? {That’s a fancy way of learning how to separate colors}. There’s Just One Mommy shares a simple science activity using coffee filters that will provide fun and some great craft supplies when you are done.

Winter Learning Ideas – Preschool and Kindergarten Community

This past week we spent time in upstate NY playing in the snow – tubing, skating, and freezing our noses off. But it was all much fun! Tomorrow, the 3 year old class in our co-op will be talking about winter and snow. Here are a few reader ideas that you may enjoy to go along with a winter theme.

Last year we made these fun Borax snowflakes, and they are something we’re going to make again. All of the kids loved them and it was a great science lesson too!
