If you have an Uno card game handy, you have a great resource for learning colors and numbers – and you’ll have a little fun playing a game at the same time. This is ‘sneaky’ learning at its best! Thanks to Life Through My Lens for sharing.

Learning with Uno

One Beautiful Home shared some FABULOUS preschool assessment pages that she put together this year. You’ll want to print this off and refer to it through the year for sure!

Simple bottle caps and a toy truck are all you will need to play this ABC Game. Fantastic Fun and Learning shows some ways that she changed the difficulty of the game based on the age of her children.

Typically I am a ‘low-mess’ momma, so this shaving cream sensory play from Wildflower Ramblings would be a bit out of my comfort zone. I have a feeling though that all sorts of little ones would find it fun – especially if you can pull out that pool once the summer weather cools down and still use it!

If you are looking for some fun hands-on art ideas for preschoolers, be sure to visit School Time Snippets. She did a book study on the artist Alexander Calder and had a great bead and pipe cleaner project to go along with the book.

Everyone has a different preschool schedule, but it is always fun to see how others plan their time with their little ones. This week Fantastic Fun and Learning shared their daily routine.

Boats for Lunch, Milk Paint, and Cloud Dough – Preschool and Kindergarten Community

How has your week been going? In our parts, the county fair is in full swing, and the highlight of our kids day was getting to hold an alligator. They all were a wee bit giddy about that one. Mind you – it was fairly small, but still – it was an alligator, so that counts for something right?

{And don’t think that I didn’t edit our summer fun list to add ‘Hold an alligator’ just so we could check it off – cough}. Because I did.

Here’s a peek at some of the fun things that you all shared last week during the link up. Be sure to stop by and visit others this week too and encourage each other!

Have fun making a musical instrument with your kids. All you need is an empty tissue box and a few other supplies you most likely have around your house. Check out the idea from Accidental Teacher, On Purpose.

tinfoil knight

Sometime this year, you may want to plan on doing a Knights and Princesses unit. The Fantastic Five shares the crafts and activities that she worked on with their three kiddos. I love the knight in shining armor!

And if you are ready for a little bit of messy fun, be sure to stop by One Beautiful Home and grab her Cloud Dough recipe. It will definitely be a hit with your little ones!

Squirt Painting, Volcanoes, and a Summer Sensory Box ~ Preschool and Kindergarten Community

How is your summer going?

We enjoyed a fun week camping at the beach and are now back home catching up from that break. We haven’t forgotten that it’s summer though and are trying to enjoy as much outdoor time at the pool as we can!

Looking for a few more ideas to enjoy with your kids this summer? Here are a few fun things to check out from readers linking up to the Preschool and Kindergarten Community.

image

Have some squirt bottles that you’ve picked up from the dollar section – or maybe ones from leftover condiments? Try this fun squirt painting project from Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds.

image

Head to the library and pick up some books about volcanoes and make a volcano together like the one that School Time Snippets made with her son.

image

Have some of those foam letters hanging around your house? Cool off in the pool and go swimming for letters like Teaching 2 Stinkers did! {LOVE this idea!!}

image

If you have a plastic bin and some play sand, pull out your small sand toys and a few other things to make a summer sensory box. Under God’s Mighty Hand shares some additional activities too, so be sure to check them out.

image

Our kids love dice activities – somehow, that seems to make everything fun! Check out the free ABC Dice printables from 3 Dinosaurs for a little writing practice this summer.
