February 2018 Planner Pages – Free Printable

Has your new year been off to a great start? 

Our school year is getting back on track and I have to tell you, it feels wonderful to be back into our routine and have some semblance of order! We’ve had some cold weather in our area this month, which means hunkering down with blankets and books, but it’s also meant some purging in the house (when I feel warm enough to emerge from the cozy warmth!). 

Menu plans and budgets are getting lined up, and even though there has been a lot to do, it just feels so much like things are falling back into place. I’ve been working on a new daily to-do list printable that I can’t wait to share with you (it doesn’t seem right to share it if I haven’t used it for a bit first, right?).

If you’d like to get organized along with me in February, you can download the February 2018 Personal Planner Pages and try them out this month. I truly hope they are a help to you in the upcoming days.

This year I’ve done a little something different and pulled my planner out of the binder and had it spiral bound at Staples. It has worked wonderfully and I love it this way!!

My Daily To-Do List is pretty basic, but hopefully it will work for you too. There is an area to make a list of things to accomplish, household goals, appointment, meals for the day, and even a space to record exercise and water intake. Each page in the document is identical so you can print them off, cut the page in half, and have two lists. If you print them front to back, you’ll have four to-do lists and save a little paper.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your family! 

Our break has been relaxing so far. Lots of time spent curled up on the couch, putting puzzles together, and visiting with family. We will be spending the last few days of 2017 with Rick’s family – essentially FREEZING since the temperatures have dropped into single digits (and below).

December kept us busy for sure – so many fun parties and time with friends and January will be the time to clean up the house and get everything back in order and on track for the upcoming year. Pattern Block Mats and Cards – New Printables

We have a huge bin of colorful pattern blocks in our house that I just can’t bring myself to give away. There’s something about sitting down with them when kids come to visit (or we just want to have a little fun) that makes me want to hang onto them for quite some time. 

To go along with the blocks, we now have a few sets of alphabet pattern block cards inside our bin so we can pull them out for learning fun with the nieces and nephews that visit.

And I would love to share these printables with you all as well! 

Mini Pattern Block Cards – Subscriber Freebie!

The Mini Pattern Block Cards are a brand new subscriber freebie. These cards print off four to a page (so each card is quarter-page size).

There are two sets included in this printable: one set of uppercase letter cards and one set of lowercase letter cards. 

Each card also has a small uppercase and lowercase letter in the upper right corner showing the represented letter, so children can use the cards as an uppercase/lowercase matching opportunity as well. 


Personally, I suggest laminating the cards for added durability – little hands might make a mess of them otherwise! :) Somehow I don’t think that just our house, right?

Uppercase and Lowercase Pattern Block Mats

I also put together two additional sets that I absolutely love: pattern block mats for both uppercase and lowercase letters. Both sets are full-sized (8.5 x 11 sheets) and work with a 1:1 size for each of the pattern blocks, so kids can place the blocks directly onto the mats as they build the letters. The uppercase and lowercase sets are each 52 pages. 

There are two sets included in each 52 page printable set: one includes a letter page with the alphabet letter only and the second includes the letter as well as several pictures of words that begin with that letter sound. 

For added learning, use the “how many?” area at the bottom of the pages to count how many pattern blocks of each type are used in creating the letters.

Number Pattern Block Mats

The Pattern Block Number Mats feature numbers from zero to twenty. Each mat includes the number word at the top, a space for children to build the number using pattern blocks, and then an area to count the blocks used to build the number (21 pages).

December 2017 Planner Pages – Free Printable

DECEMBER IS IN A FEW DAYS, PEOPLE!!

You know how long the year seems on the first of January, and then suddenly you are scrambling to grab the things you need last minute for Christmas. Yeah, that’s about where I’m at right now. 

We still have some school to wrap up for this month before we take a break, but hopefully we will be able to get it all in before my hubby has his vacation time. As much as we try, it’s so hard to work on anything when he is home (and he reads my blog and is likely nodding his head in agreement). For us, that means a good solid three weeks (maybe three and a half depending on cooperation levels) and then we have a nice break and some travel days planned in as well. 

Laurianna will be wrapping up her first semester’s classes at the community college in two weeks, so it will be nice to have her home a bit more, at least until her next round of classes start in January. Again – time is flying and I can’t believe she is just four class periods shy of completing her two classes. It’s really been exciting for both of us and a great learning experience! 

Needless to say, December is a great month to feel like I am on top of things, especially with all the social events that are coming up as well.  If you’d like to get organized along with me, you can download the December 2017 Personal Planner Pages and try them out this month. Book Report Forms – Free Printable

Last week I shared a set of Scientific Method Printables with you all (a fun flipbook and poster). While this set of book report form printables is rather opposite of science, the clip art involved ties in with the Zoey and Sassafras series – but can be used for any book report your child may work on. (We just liked the clip art and thought it would be fun to make something else!)

These forms have been great for our children over the years (especially those who are more hesitant writers) because they have a limited space and clear direction. 

The set includes three forms that all include the following: 

  • space to record book information (title, author, copyright, etc)
  • story setting
  • characters
  • a brief summary
  • two vocabulary words
  • a book rating

The summary area is varies a bit on each form

. One page is blank so your child can write freely. If you have a child that needs a little assistance in keeping lines straight (or maybe writing a bit smaller), print off one of the lined pages. 

For those beginning the book report journey, this is a great look at important information to gather while reading and a fun way to document reading progress through the year.
