My Goal for the month of February {and January’s results}…
My goal for January was to update and share my Emergency Binder printables. I started and was making good progress, but when it became clear that we were moving, I put all of that on hold. Many of the things that I would need to put into the binder will be changing and truthfully I felt my energy was better put elsewhere. :) I did what I needed to leave my mom important information for my parents, but otherwise I had to focus on preparing to move.
For February, my main goal is to keep up with the basics of school work in the midst of moving ~ and be realistic about the expectations on the kids and myself. We’re at a bit of a standstill since we can’t quite move into our new house {while we wait for the former owner to move out}, but we’re ready to start the process. I’m well aware that patience is NOT one of my strong traits…and trying to rest and know that God has been working through this entire process…and He isn’t going to leave us hanging!
What’s one thing that you really want to do this month?

  1. Busybuzzer says

I know how you feel! We JUST moved into our new home the beginning of January. As a first year homeschooler, this has been a very trying process. I still have not been able to come up with a school schedule that works and moving threw a great big wrench into any progress I had made. I am currently in the process of documenting our experiences with the move. Would love to hear any tips you have on keeping up with school work!

    • Since December our schedule has been TOTALLY out of whack. I can’t wait
until we can get settled in and back in a definite routine!! Hang in
there!!! Right now we’re just making sure we keep up with the basics ~
reading, math, handwriting, language, and science {since our curriculum
is already planned out and easy to implement}.

  2. Hi Jonanthe,

I have been following you blog for sometime now, and have just stated blogging myself. I absolutely love the resources you have available. One thing I would really like to do this month, besides getting my blog going is to revamp my school room. I am using the kitchen table right now and can’t wait to have our own space to do our work, store our workboxes and our school supplies. Feel free to check me out at http://thehappyheartsacademy.blogspot.com

    • We use our dining room table too and I am anxious to finish off the
bonus room in the house that we are moving into ~ because it will be our
school room!!! I know what you mean!

  3. Hi! I just discovered your blog two weeks ago and I have become inspired to look into homeschooling for my three girls (6,3, and 15 months). I am currently a stay at home mom after spending several years teaching. I want my children to have a stellar education but I cannot say that my oldest is receiving the best possible education at her new public school (she attended a private school in Tennessee but we moved to Texas in the summer). My goal is to work on my own ability to be consistent (I have been sooo frazzled lately) so that I may truly help my children through homeschool. Thank you so much for offering fantastic advice and resources to those of us who are new to the idea of teaching from home!

    • Thanks so much for stopping by {and sorry I didn’t reply sooner!}. I
hope that you find much help through my blog and others too as you start
your homeschooling adventure. It is a wonderful opportunity and we are
SO blessed to be able to be at home with our kids and be their teacher!

  4. My goal for February is to take my girls to the Portland Art Museum. We were supposed to go yesterday but we got sick. I have picked a new day which is good. I do not want it to get bumped. It’s so easy for me to let those activities get pushed back and back.
