Gearing up for Geography ~ Preschool Corner {& 5K too!}

Preschool CornerThe school room is {still} a mess. There are boatloads of things to do to get ready for the upcoming school year. In the meantime, I’m having fun figuring out our game plan for the upcoming school year and getting all of the pieces we need in place.

For Kaleb, we’re going to be working on some geography together over the course of the year. He doesn’t know it yet, but we’ll be using Little Passports each month.

Little PassportsWe have a 12 month subscription to Little Passports, and we will be covering the countries of Brazil, Japan, France, Egypt, Australia, Mexico, South Africa, India, England, China, and Argentina. {p.s.  Little Passports is offering 10% off this month will code JULY10}.

The overall plan is to continue with some *new* printable packs and incorporate some literature-based printables that tie in with the different countries we are studying.

Except I keep getting distracted on Pinterest… {ahem}.

Anyway…that’s the general plan and we’ll be filling in the gaps with a few different pieces of curriculum. Don’t worry, I’ll share it all once I actually sit down and manage to get it all written down.

Assuming I don’t get distracted. Again.

Have you been preparing for your upcoming year? Do you have much left to do or are you ready to go? Or have you been distracted on Pinterest?

  1. Very fun!! I am sure Kaleb will love it!

  2. Am I missing the linky??? =(

    • no…it’s in there, but for some reason the coding didn’t show up. Fixing it right now!! Thanks for letting me know. :)

  3. I am glad to read that I am not the only one who has a disaster for a school room! I am still planning too,but finding the planning part fairly impossible with the school room in the state it is in. I am hoping to get it at least mostly back together by the end of the weekend. I don’t have pintrest distractions – I don’t allow myself to ever look at it. It is just too much for me – too visually overwhelming. I do have to keep detaching from my projects to read stories and do fun stuff with my kids – which I of course enjoy, but it does make getting stuff done take all the longer! But I would like my kids to have more memories of the summer than following me around, saying “where are you going to put that, mom??”. :-)

    I am like you….a bunch of plans but I keep getting sidetracked! Can’t wait to read how Little Passports goes. I am also so excited to see what new Literature based printables you are going to do…We LOVE all the FIAR ones you have done! (Actually LOVE all that you have!)

    I get so distracted on Pinterest, which is why I only allow myself to go on it once a week or once every two weeks!

    Oh boy! I am excited and nervous about your geography plans. I have been planning to do a trip around the world with my homeschool kids too. I picked 11 countries (based off of Epcot’s World Showcase). You are making me think about changing ALL my plans and following your lead. YIKES! I will be excited to see what you have in the works….. I was planning to start with England and put it together with some Olympic types of activities. Hurry!?! Can’t wait to see. :) Much appreciation for all your hard work. Thanks!

  7. We’re doing FIAR this year and our focus is on Geography, so I’m looking forward to all your great work! I’m hoping I can use it too!
