Groundhog Day Activities for Preschool and Kindergarten – Community Linkup

Groundhog Day (February 2nd) is a few short weeks away, and it is always a fun time to talk more about the changing of the seasons and shadows – and that crazy groundhog too! Here are some learning ideas to get you started. 

Groundhog Day Activity

Almost Unschoolers put together a groundhog day activity showing what the different weather conditions on Groundhog Day mean. 

Groundhog Pudding Cup

Nutter Butters may be one of my favorite weaknesses, so this groundhog day pudding cup from Oh My Creative is looking especially cute (and tasty) to me. What a fun way to celebrate. :) 

Shadow Matching

Totschooling shares a set of shadow matching printables that will help your child work on visual discrimination skills. 

Groundhog Day Puppet

Have a little fun poking your own groundhog out of the ground and singing a song with these pop-up puppets from Mrs. Ricca’s Kindergarten. 

Groundhog Shadows

Create a groundhog shadow with this activity from Owls and Owls of Fun – prepare to have some chalk handy! 

Toilet Paper Tube Groundhog Craft

Have lots of toilet paper tubes around the house? This pop-up puppet from Crafty Morning would be a fun way to use some up!
