Moments to Remember was developed as a simple way to look back on our week as homeschoolers and find photos that encompass the memories we want to remember.

The week may have been tough, there may have been more bumps than smiles, but in the end these are the moments that keep us going, the ones we need to remember.

A dog. How exactly does that tie in with homeschooling? Well, the arrival of a dog into our household {for dog-sitting the next 2 weeks} officially marks the end of the first half of our year.

And this picture just makes me smile, because even though one would expect chaos when a dog entered the house, it actually has brought a calm to a few children as they sit, pet and read to the dog. I wasn’t able to snap a picture of our three youngest all surrounding the dog on her big ol’ pillow and reading story after story…but it was so cute and you’ll just have to take my word on it. :)

Don’t think that there aren’t 4 children in high hopes that we will be introducing a dog into our household in the near future…and I’ll be the first to admit that I’m warming up to the idea…shhhhh!

  1. Yes, arrival of a puppy is normally suppose to create some chaos, it happened to me. The picture is aorable and I can see that she is geniunelytaking this this puppy. Reading to the puppy is just beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

  2. Adorable. Enjoy these two weeks, it is a great way to try before you by ;-)

  3. Sweet!  I believe the reading was precious!  We’re actually considering training our pup as a therapy dog.  My husband works in long-term care, and it would give our kids a chance to share their dog with others and become comfortable with the elderly.

  4. Awww..she reminds me of a bigger version of a dog we used to have.

  6. Aww!  I have heard before that animals really calm people and in fact lower their blood pressure.  We have 2 cats and when I can’t sleep, I go find them and bring them to bed and I’m able to fall asleep quickly.  LOL!  I guess it’s just their calming effect.

I also love when I find Abby reading to the cats.  It’s hilarious.

  7. How sweet. I love that they were reading to the doggie.

  8. That cute lil puppy looks just like ours did :- ) is it an affenpinscher by chance?

  9. I had to add my post this week.  I have been home schooling 3 years and this week my husband took a day off work to school the kids so I could rest:)  I have to remember this day as I don’t know if it will ever happen again:)

  10. Hi there Jolanthe,
